(Review taken from Derry's Facebook Post) Tin Giants took over the Woodman stage and blew us all away. Six of the very finest musicians used every ounce of skill, expertise, and entertainment know-how, to completely enthral and amaze the delighted Woodman audience. Tin Giants played to a full-house because their talents and reputation is revered by so many folks who have seen them before at festivals up and down the country. Tin Giants are eminent exponents of Celtic-Breton Folk-rock and used every one of their extensive collections of weird and wonderful musical instruments to maximum effect. The vocal harmonies are to-die-for and having the lead vocal in both Breton and English served to enhance the whole musical extravaganza. Awesome! Checkout the Tin Giants website and book them! To open the evening for us all was the exceptional home-grown talent of Bryn Phillips. Bryn has a unique knack of catching the stories, news items and legends, that might otherwise pass us by and turning them into fantastic original songs. Bryn’s songwriting is so good that professional performers have aired them in their stage acts, so the likes of Anthony John Clarke and the late, great Vin Garbutt, (to name but a few), can’t be wrong! Check out Bryn’s website. Massive thank you to Mr Gary for photos, MC Chris for keeping the wheels on, Techy-up and Techy-down teams for humping, winding, and lugging and last but not least, the wonderful Ashwood Marina customers and staff, for their unwavering support. Enjoy Yourself! Derry & Deb xx |
