(Review taken from Derry's Facebook Post) Well didn’t we have a lovely time the day we went to see Sunjay. Oh yes! Sunjay was on superb form and he came loaded with a secret weapon in the shape and form of Lee, an exceptional gobironist, (harmonica & blues harp), of some great degree of skill. Sunjay wasted no time at all and was soon rocking the place to the foundations using his incredible guitar skills. His fingers flew up and down the fretboard, skipping from string to string like some sort of finger-picking musical trapeze ninja, and all this whilst delivering gloriously growling blues vocals, thumping stomp-board and a superbly mastered electronic sub-bass. Lee was with him every step of the way and danced in and out of Sunjay’s wall of sound with equally nimble ninja moves on the various blues harps and harmonicas. The whole thing was exhilarating, exciting and massively entertaining. It was a cracker! Mr Bryn Phillips stepped up to the mark once again to open the evening in his own inimitable style. Skilfully plucking favourite songs from his vast repertoire, he soon had the audience singing along enthusiastically. MC Chris got us off the grid and onto the straight in quick racing order and within seconds it was full speed ahead! Thanks to the Techy-up and Techy-down teams for their heroic build it up and break it down skills. Thanks for the Audio/Visual capture by Mr Gary and Mr John. Special thanks to the Ashwood Marina staff and friends for their amazing support. Enjoy Yourself! Derry & Deb xx |
