(Review taken from Derry's Facebook Post) What an excellent evening of top-class entertainment. Liz Simcock provided us all with an absolutely delightful night of sing-along songs, funny stories, and thought-provoking scenarios. Using audience-chosen favourites to perfectly punctuate her two sets, Liz cleverly enhanced what was already a perfect presentation. That’s what a true entertainer does and Liz does it beautifully. Liz has a voice that is as smooth as velvet, a voice that attracts the attention of any audience and focuses the mind on her cleverly constructed and beautifully written story-lines; It’s a rare talent, but Lix Simcock has it in abundance. If there are any music promoters, festival organiser’s or folk club organiser’s reading this’ book Liz Simcock, you nor your audience will be disappointed: GUARANTEED! Our outstanding opening act was a brilliant home-grown duo, known by the collective name, Lintel. Lintel are John and Carol Hoare and are themselves consummate entertainers with some years’ experience. That experience showed, exhibiting itself in the professionally presented, skilful and totally absorbing material and chat. Lovely original compositions and shrewdly chosen covers, provided the audience with an extremely enjoyable half-hour set. Enjoy Yourself! Derry & Deb xx |
