(Review taken from Derry's Facebook Post) Tonight we were treated to something very special. Two great performers and talented musicians who are the best of friends, on stage playing awesome music and presenting a superb show in which they and the Woodman audience were having so much fun. Gary Edward Jones and Skeet Williams treated us all to a cracking evenings entertainment. It goes without saying that Gary’s songs are superb and his playing is just spot-on, but teamed up with Skeet’s stylish acoustic lead-guitar licks and subtle complementary rhythm guitar, it was simply outstanding. Gary’s rapport with the audience is always warm, witty, and fascinating, and having Skeet there created a cheerful and heartening Jovial ambiance, and that is a precious thing in these trying times. They played and sang their hearts out, treating us to some excellent original material and of course specially selected Paul Simon covers and beyond. We loved it! Magic! The ever-popular duo, Lintel, (John and Carol Hoare) took to the Woodman stage with great gusto, confidence, and enthusiasm. Their opening set was, as usual, beautifully constructed. Lintel have a wealth of musical goodies, consisting of both cherished originals and beloved folky favourites, all professionally delivered with light-hearted banter. Marvelous! MC Bryn kept a steady hand on the wandering Mic and safely guided us all through the evening, in his usual charming, warm, friendly, and illustrative manner. Nice! Thanks to the Techy-up, Techy-down teams, the masters of all things AV, Mr Gary, and Mr John B and of course the hard-working Ashwood Marina staff and regulars. Enjoy yourself! Derry & Deb xx |
