(Review taken from Derry's Facebook Post) Tonight we had the full Irish-Antipodean treatment, taking the form of the absolutely outstanding Mr Enda Kenny. Enda is no stranger to this area. Even though he has played all over the world he is always so happy to come back to The Woodman and to Bromsgrove, our sister club. And we love him! With superb songs inspired by life’s little, (and not so little), quirks and a sense of humour that was born in Dublin and escaped, Enda’s show is always a superb, “must see,” you can’t afford to miss. But if you missed him at The Woodman, don’t worry, you can catch him at The Bromsgrove Folk Festival. Enda provided us with the most enjoyable evening presented in an authentic Troubadour style. Excellent! And what a superb opening act we had too in the form of the magnificent, Lintel. Lintel are John & Carol Hoare, Woodman stalwarts and superb musicians to boot. Authentic folk finger-style guitar, smooth vocals, harmonies and well interpreted keyboard voices were all component parts of a rather excellent whole. Nice One! Mega-thanks to: MC Chris for his illuminated introductions; AV Mr Bob and Mr John for click, click, whirring’s; The Techy-up, Techy-down teams and last but never least, the Ashwood Marina and staff for keeping us all “watered.” |
