The Craic was mighty at The Woodman Folk Club tonight with Christopher Crompton and Julia Disney and they did us proud!

What a dazzling feat it was. These two artists have both perfected excellent solo performances, but with that sparkling touch of musical magic, their on-stage collaboration elevated them both to the next level. The standard of songwriting was awesome, their musicianship was both impressive and faultless, their stage-presence exuded confidence and experience, and last but not least, their interactions between each other and the audience was genuine, natural, and hilarious.

This is the first time that Christopher and Julia together, have taken the top spot at the Woodman, and it most definitely won’t be the last! Superb!

Getting the “Craic” off to a blistering start was our very-own, uber-talented Mr Dick Woodhouse. Dick is a seasoned Woodmanite and a safe pair of hands at any performance venue. Intricate guitar licks, much-loved contemporary and traditional songs, and liberal amounts of Jake T, were guaranteed to get us all in the zone! Nice one!

MC Chris proudly marched up to the mark, opened his wireless microphone and with commanding confidence and brilliantly baffling authority, guided the entire evening in the style of Charlie Drake meets Mussolini. I don’t know how, but it works beautifully!

Many thanks to our Techy-up & Techy-down teams, Mr Gary & Mr John B for visualisations, and of course the marvellous Ashwood Marina customers and staff, who all looked after us so brilliantly.

Enjoy Yourself!
