(Review taken from Derry's Facebook Post) It was Bob’s inaugural foray onto the Woodman stage, and we all agree, it was a resounding success. Bob has a fantastically folky finger style pick on the guitar that beautifully complements his exceptionally wide vocal range. His song choices had the audience enthralled and his laid-back delivery delighted all those in attendance. Several off-mic discussions about open tuning kept Bob busy in the break, as did the sales of his CD’s. Nice one Bob, thank you. If Bob Wood was the marvellous main course, then Lintel were the superb starters. As always, Lintel, (John & Carol Hoare), opened the evening for us in some style. Lintel are a wonderfully skilful, Woodmanite duo of some extensive talent. Lintel have an excellent knack of covering great songs that are both relevant, topical, and inspiring, but that’s not all. John writes some brilliantly creative and highly enjoyable original songs of exceptional quality. Great stuff! Thank you to MC Bryn, who kept his head whilst all those around were mopping theirs on an exceptionally hot July night. Massive thanks also to Mr Gary and Mr John B, for all things AV. Thanks to the ever-willing Techy-up and Techy-down teams for pouncing like tigers on all those naughty leads! As always, a massive thank you to all the customers and staff at The Ashwood Marina, without whose love and support we could not do all this. Enjoy Yourself! Derry & Deb xx |
