Well the year is fairly whizzing by and it’s nearly Easter already, so we’ve got an eggstra special month lined up for you all again - albeit a short one due to the holiday, so eyes down for this months fun….

…but not on Friday the 3rd because we’re CLOSED FOR GOOD FRIDAY, sorry!

However we’re back with a bang on the 10th for one of our legendary Singers’ Nights. Don’t be disappointed, these singers nights are normally over-subscribed so do please contact Debby or Derry on 01384 560462 to ensure you get a floor spot, we have a maximum of 14 slots. Alternatively just come and enjoy the talent on display. A great night is guaranteed!

Then on the 17th we will be welcoming yet another new name to the club in the shape of Gary Edward Jones. Gary hails from the musically renowned city of Liverpool and has just launched his debut CD ‘The Cabinet Maker’ – which is, in fact, his trade. An excellent singer/songwriter so the night will be filled with his own songs plus, maybe the occasional cover. Gary plays guitar and takes lead vocals and will hopefully be joined by Skeet Williams on second guitar and Oscar South on bass. I strongly suspect that this visit to the club will be the first of many.

And finally in this all too brief month, on the 24th, yet another group making their debut appearance at the club, and they are Red Moon Road who’ve come to entertain us from all the way across the pond! Reputed to be Canada's most energetic and endearing folk trio. Masterful story telling, haunting three part harmonies, Mandolin, Banjo, Guitar, delay pedals and a beat up bass drum all combine to give a lush and lively take on modern roots. This will be the first visit from this exciting Canadian band and I’m told “this is music made equally for fireplaces, festival stages and the luminous blue of a Canadian night”. Let’s hope they sound as good in a boatyard in Kingswinford ‘eh!

Short but ever so sweet AND we’ve got 5 club nights to savour in May so it’s not all that bad really. Anyway, cheers for now and see you all down the club!
