Hi Folks

Yes, believe it or not, there are only seven club Fridays left before we break for the summer! However we have a wonderful mixture of acts for June.

Firstly, on the 1 June we’ve got Pete Boddis. Pete, a long-time favourite at the club, has been giving us wonderful music since the early rock and roll days. Come and listen to his original material with strong country influences as well as well-known classics.

The following week on the 8 June it’s Singers’ Night, a time to try out new songs with plenty of audience participation.

Vin (do I need to say Garbutt!) will be here to entertain us on the 15 June. A folk icon singing, his beautifully crafted self penned songs, with certainly a touch humour. Get here early to make sure of a seat; this may be a ticket only evening.

Next on 22 June Chris Buttery, Sam Mcleod and Andy Jones, otherwise known as Flaxenby, will be entertaining us. Their music migrates from folk to country, jazz to blues with their own classy hook laden melodies. We can be assured to have a good night.

Finally for the month of June on the 29th and new, as a main act, to the club it’s Hicks and Goulbourn. With songs like the Inkspots’ "Someone’s Rocking My Dreamboat", finger pickin' guitar on Handel’s "Arrival Of The Queen Of Sheba", the jazz standard "Cry Me A River” we’re in for will a night to remember.

Next month it’s Bromsgrove Folk Festival on 13 – 15 July. Visit their web site for full details. Maybe see you there.

Keep singing,
Pete
