Hi Folks,

Easter and a private function have led to a reduced number of opportunities to visit the Woodman in April. Nevertheless you can still enjoy a Singers’ Night on the 13th of April and Malcolm Jeffrey on the 27th. Yes, Malcy’s back! Look forward to an incredible musical journey, with Tom Lehrer, Fred Wedlock, many more and of course, Jake Thackray!

May is a superb month with local group Chase Mist on the 4th followed by the two wonderful artists we know as Cloudstreet on the 11th. Chase Mist have quickly gained a reputation on the Midlands folk scene as a polished and exciting contemporary acoustic/folk act. Cloudstreet, well known to the club regulars, are a delightful duo who not only inspire one another but put an indelible smile on the faces of their audiences. Come along early to make sure of a seat!

The following week on the 18 May, stripy jumpers at the ready, the perennial Jez Lowe who has been to the club for most of its existence (so I’m led to believe!)

Finally on the 25th Tony Portlock, no stranger to the club or the West Midlands Folk Scene, will entertain us with his excellent blues, superb finger picking and his own interpretation of well known songs. This is indeed a night to look forward to.

That just leaves me to wish you all a fruitful and sunny Easter and to say that if you want more you can visit Upton Folk Festival on the 5th to 7th of May.

Keep happy, keep singing,

Pete
