The summer holidays will soon be with us as the Woodman winds down after the 15 July until the beginning of September. But before then on 1st July weíve got Flaxenby who are Chris Buttery, Sam Mcleod and Andy Jones. Originating from Bill Caddick country, the music of Flaxenby migrates from folk to country, jazz to blues with their own classy hook laden melodies. Iím looking forward to seeing them; it will be a good night.
Then a break so that everyone can enjoy Bromsgrove Folk Festival 2011. For full details of this please look at the link on our web site or their web site.
And finally for this season Johnny Coppin on 15 July. Johnny is a longstanding favourite at the club, his music is essentially English in character with a particular Gloucestershire bias; add to this his clear voice and his ability to write fine songs and you get an evening to remember.
So, that just leaves me to wish you a sunny (letís hope so!) and relaxing holiday break and to let you look forward to 9th September and the start of the new Woodman year with Singersí Night and membership renewal.
