Hi Folks,

The days are longer, the nights shorter, volcanoes in Iceland, storms in Britain, but at the Woodman, it’s just another stunning month.

We’ve got Steve Skaith on the 3rd. Steve was the singer and co-writer of the band Latin Quarter, best known for the hit single –‘Radio Africa’ and their collaboration with the Zimbabwean group, the Bhundu Boys in the 90‘s. After a time in Mexico Steve now has a new band that produces a mixture of Folk Rock with Mexican and African sounds and rhythms! a new act to the club to look forward to.
The following week, on the 10th, Kieran Halpin makes a welcome return.

Kieran has been coming to the club for as long as I can remember – he always sings up a storm and attracts a big audience, so make sure to get here early.

Then on 17th a Singers’ Night; recently we have had some exceptional new talent, I’m looking forward to hearing more of the same this night.

Finally on the 24th it’s Bram Taylor; an entertainer with a distinctive voice and a great sense of humour, he calls on a large repertoire of traditional songs, together with contemporary and humorous material.

Well, that’s it for June but coming next month will be Flaxenby, Johnny Coppin
as well as Bromsgrove Folk Festival; then it’s the summer break until we return on 9th September.

Take care, be happy,

Pete
