Hi,

Here’s wishing you a good Easter, let’s hope this wonderful weather holds!

The fundraising event at the Bowling Green, Stoke Prior on 9th April, was a superb night, thanks to Debs and Derry for organising it and to all the performers, and raised £420 for Steve. Steve has asked that I pass on a big thank you for your donation.

If you can’t get to Upton, another event that takes place on April 30th at 8ish p.m. associated with the Folk Trail that is travelling from Lands End to John O’Groats is a singaround at the Lock, Wolverley. The trail gets there that night.

The next day, again at Wolverley, but at the Church Hall, is a May Day celebration with Red Shoes.

Moving on to the Woodman and the delights in store for May!

On 6th May there is the outstanding Malcolm Jeffrey Yes, Malcy’s back! Our own local hero! Look forward to an incredible musical journey, with Tom Lehrer, Fred Wedlock, and of course, Jake Thackray!

Then on 13th May Vin Garbutt Get here early to make sure of a seat. Speak to Pete on the door or contact Ian to make sure of a ticket.

Vin is followed by Kirsty McGee & Matt Martin on 20th. Kirsty McGee's life has not been that of an ordinary singer-songwriter, now with Matt Martin they are a formidable duo.

And finally on 27th Belshazzar’s Feast the two Pauls, Paul Hutchinson on accordion and Paul Sartin, vocals , violin and oboe - are an exciting and unique duo performing their own brand of excellent, humour filled, music.

Yes, May is a brilliant month at the Woodman and we expect to be packed for every concert.

That just leaves me to say that June is just as good with a new band Steve Skaith and our old favourites Kieran Halpin and Bram Taylor.

Take care, keep singing,

Pete
