Sue first got involved in the Folk Scene in the early 70's, and was
resident singer at the Seven Whistlers Folk Club in Stourbridge and the
Struggling Man Folk Club in Dudley. During this time under the wings of
the 'Seven Whistlers Entertainments Agency', she began to perform guest
spots in and around the area and had started to build up a reputation as
someone to listen to.
During the early 80's - 90's she retired from the Folk Scene to get married
and raise a family, however, a deep yearning to sing was never far from her
mind but for the time being she was content to perform for her daughter who
would clap and dance around the room to everything she sang.
In the mid 90's she dusted off the old guitar, bought a second hand PA and
started to gig round the local pubs. Christmas 2000 saw her welcome return
to the Folk Scene and in March 2001 she opened her own Folk Club called the
Lighthouse Folk Club. Her distinctive voice and accomplished guitar style,
is used to good effect on a wide range of material from sensitive folk
songs to foot stomping contemporary and self penned numbers.
Sue also dabbles in sound recording and engineering and has produced CD's
for several Artists, one of those being Anne Adams. This year she finally
managed to get around to finishing her own CD which has been a year in the
making. The CD is called Stardust and contains a mixture of Folk and her
own compositions, well worth a listen!
