Glad to see the guest book is so popular LOL

Dave Hickman, Man in the Hat - April 2008

Thanks for still being there. I called in late on the 11th for a nostalgic visit, (its a long drive from Norwich). Caught the 2/3rds of Flaxenby and was impressed enough to buy a CD My last attendance at WFC was circa 1972 as a young floor singer into Leonard Cohen. The Woodman folk were welcoming and I have fond memories of everything except the chairs. Jasper C doing his Magic Roundabout material etc etc. The Marina looks a potential good new venue. How about a Woodman Banner to brighten the room up a bit? (or at least divert attention from the yellow/brown). Next time I'll factor in the availability of the cheese&onion cobs.

Thanks for a wonderful evening and making us feel so welcome.
Good luck in the new venue.
See you soon.

Please pass on my good wishes to all at the Woodman Folk Club on its 35th Anniversary

... and to Bill Caddick too!

George Papavgeris, 16 Jan 2006

Many thanks for a wonderful evening last Friday at the Woodman Folk Club.  Such a wonderful atmosphere, everyone was very friendly and made us feel welcome.  The sound was brilliant, the floorspots great, the singing-along most heartening, the banter flowing nicely, the landlady was a sweetie, and the drop of “Entire” most palatable!  And as for the Percussion Section – never again will I look at a banana or a carrot the same way!  Please pass our special thanks to all, from Vanessa and myself.

Very good site with good links
We came - We saw - We liked - The Ridge top Mountain Boys

Steve & Angie, 7 March 2004

Visited the Woodman expecting to see only The Gathering, not realising that other bands were on. Never been to a folk club before and did not know what to expect. We sat with the guys from Nothing to Prove, in the naughty corner and had a really good night. You were all very friendly and we will come again.

thanks
Steven and Angie

George Bedingfield.  Hertfordshire, 6 Jan 2004

Found your web site through searching the name 'Bedingfield'. The Woodman sounds like a fun place !  If I am in that neck of the woods, I will have to drop in and get myself a portion of the action. Hope Paul Bedingfield's singing is better than mine.  I'm crap, and that's putting it mildly. Keep up the good work.

P.S.  Can't link Paul's family line to mine. (Probably a relief to him).  My family originated from Suffolk in the 1700s. and my branch of the family moved to Hertfordshire in the 1930.

Hi There,

Good to see the Woodman well represented at the Dodford Inn for the Bromsgrove Festival. Hope you all made it back in time to listen to Sunday Folk - or at least nominated suitable substitute listeners.

All the best

Ian & Lynn Goodsman, 30/6/02

Hi to all at The Woodman.

Well it's been a little over a year since we saw you all last, although it certainly doesn't seem that long. Needless to say, I don't think we will be returning to good ol' blighty, well only to visit. We often think of you at the club and am in contact with Corrine and Barry regularly, so we get updates of the 'goings on' at the club, which is really nice.

Lynn's job is going well and I have started playing music on a professional basis, so if you know of any gigs, or want to buy a copy of my latest CD, then get in touch.

You can contact us on:   email: iangoodsman@free.net.nz
website:  www.geocities.com/lil_ian7901 (that's an underscore between the 'l' and 'i' of 'lil_ ian')

Unfortunately the web site is one of those free ones which has pop-up boxes. The good thing is that they are pictures of film actors and actresses at the moment, so if you want to see pictures of Madonna, Britney Spears or her who played Tomb Raider, and her who was in Moulin Rouge - THEN GO TO MY SITE!!!

James Cooper, 29/6/02

One of my email friends who is a regular at the club (made me promise not to mention her name!) told me about the club and its website. I will have to go there and listen to the music when I return to England.

Greetings Woodman Folk Club; Just browsing and came across your excellent web site. It brought back memories of singing at the club quite a few years ago. I always knew when I went there that the audience was going to sing
choruses until the roof rang, which was made to measure for me. The last time I was there I arrived with a desperate  throat complaint, had hardly any voice, but the audience sang most of my songs for me. I'm very pleased to see that the club is still going. Keep up the good work. My best wishes to Mick Harrington.

All the best, ROY HARRIS

Mike Billington 7/7/01

Just a note to say what a pleasant little site it is !  I've been away from the clubs for about 15 years now, but still take an interest in what's happening. Give my luv to me old mate Mick Harrington and keep up the good work of  Folk. Can't get to come to you due to invalidity , but try to keep in touch.

Wassail,   Mike Billington
