Skin and Bone |

Anorexia Nervosa is a condition which I find very difficult to understand. This song is an attempt to describe the decline of a young girl who died as a result of a crazy diet which triggered off this terrible disease. There’s really nothing more to say about the song. |

You wake up in the morning to another desperate day The colours are all fading into darker shades of grey And the sounds becoming muffled - muffled voices in your head Your waking hours are living dreams, when you're sleeping it's like death Skin and Bone, skin and bone Aiming for beauty But all you found there was skin and bone You think the scales are lying as they keep creeping down Yours eyes search in the mirror to find those missing pounds Your clothes are getting looser but your eyes refuset you see The alarm bells should be ringing out now you're down to six stone three. Dried biscuits and warm water with a twist of lemon peel You think it is excessive as you savour your last meal Beyond the brink of sanity into chasms of despair You stop eating altogether now - death js hanging in the air You father's feeling helpless - he's staring down at you That doctors really worried now you're down to five stone two Their voices seem so distant as you slump back in the chair Your mother's crying for your love but now you're far too tired to care Those models on the catwalk so beautiful and slim Admired and loved by everyone - their bodies are a sin They've got you on this dreadful diet that dragged you down and down It was on your fifteenth birthday, that we layed you in the ground |
