You Can't Blame Me |
||
|
In this song you have to imagine the aliens have
arrived and are in orbit around our planet. They've come to find out whether
we're ready to be admitted into the Galactic Federation. Shortly after they
arrive, they are met my a fleet of atomic missiles which they easily vaporise.
They can't understand why they have been attacked without provocation. When
they look down at the planet and see the way the human race conducts itself,
they are even more confused. They wonder whether the inhabitants of the planet
will one day represent a threat to the rest of the Galaxy. If so, the planet
and all life on it will have to be destroyed.
So, in true Star Trek tradition they beam up a human being selected at random to explain what's going on. You now have to imagine that you are the victim and all you can think of to say is "You Can't Blame Me" |

You can't blame me, I wouldn't do that You can't blame me, I wouldn't do that at all You can't blame me, I wasn't even there And anyway I had my face turned to the wall Was it you who cowered in the alley As our spaceship came flying through the sky? Was it you who fired the missiles at us? If it was then you are going to die. Was it you who chopped down all the forests, That had taken a millennium to grow? Was it you who murdered in the oceans, And clubbed the seals to death in the blood stained snow? Was it you who cheered the departing armies As they proudly marched off to the war? Was it you who raged against appeasement? You didn't even know what they were fighting for. But you are the one, the one who we have chosen You are the one with the whole world in your hand Your are the one who with logic and with reason Must explain all the things which we can't understand Well you have had your chance and now your world is ended As are the lies which come spilling from your tongue We know you were there, because that was where we found you You're as much to blame as anyone.
