How Does It Feel |
||
| Like a lot of people I became increasingly annoyed through the Falkland’s War at the callous and exploitative tactics used by some of the television reporters. They would choose someone who had been through a traumatic experience, ask them questions and then even after they had obtained an answer they stayed silent, waiting for their victim to elaborate. The silence would lengthen, as the camera moved in to catch the emotions........ | ||

The captain stood on the deck How does it feel? Open up your soul How does it feel? Hey, let the cameras roll Let those cameras roll The woman was crying a tear in her eye As she saw her wounded son come home She managed to smile as she started to wave As he limped towards her alone Then the interviewer asked her how does it feel To have your son crippled in the war And how do you feel about your other son Who's missing, unaccounted for Then the SAS man climbed down from the ship His eyes shone like cold steel The interviewer moved in - he had to know How a war hardened veteran would feel But before he could ask a boot crashed in his groin And he fell to the floor with a groan And he heard a voice asking him how did that feel But he just wanted to be left alone |
