Dracula

Down in the graveyard the dead were walking
The ghouls were talking
The werewolves were stalking
They knew Dracula would be coming before long
I heard the coach and horses
I knew Igor would be driving
And Dracula would be hiding from the sun
My hands were already shaking
From the course I would be taking
But I had my silver bullets in my gun
In the inn the fire was blazing
The old men nodding wisely
Their words were left hanging in the smoke
The innkeeper hunched and crippled
His glass eye gazing blindly
He poured out the foaming beer but never spoke
In the castle she was waiting
Her bare neck upon the pillow
Her window was wide open to the moon
The garlic would not protect her
Her bible was unopened
Her silver crucifix could not save her from her doom
His eyes burnt like red rubies
As I fired my silver bullets
And he staggered backwards falling to the ground
I was holding my stake ready
And I hit it with my mallet
The dead fled at that awful thudding sound
If you believe in Dracula
Then you would be much safer
As you lie dreaming softly in your bed
Some things are best unspoken
So don't leave your window open
Or one morning you might wake up living dead
